Jeremiah is here on an 11 month volunteer Serving and Learning Together (SALT) placement with MCC.

I’ve worked supporting people with intellectual disabilities for the past 5 years back in Canada; I know firsthand how difficult it is to navigate the behavioral and logistical challenges surrounding this kind of care. When I came to Al Malath just over a month ago, I couldn’t believe how cohesive and cooperative the community they’ve built here is. All the individuals supported have roles in the community here, which they take lots of pride in, and which helps grant them autonomy and skills. Everyone here has been immensely welcoming and fun, and the staff are very dedicated to continuing their important work. I’m grateful I discovered Al Malath and I’m excited for my involvement going forward.
