Beneficiaries

Our direct beneficiaries are those adults with intellectual disabilities who have difficulty understanding daily life concepts, processing information and facing the difficulties of interpersonal interaction. Different aspects of individual needs are assessed, such as cognitive ability, expectations within particular environments, and the presence of other disabilities. Levels of intellectual disability range from mild, to moderate, to severe and to profound, which are classifications defined on the basis of IQ tests. These levels suggest some guidelines regarding the support a person may need. Personality, coping strategies, and the presence of other disabilities (motor, social or sensory) are all factors that influence the way that disabled persons function. In order for them to function happily and healthily, they require services and support by parents, family and the community.
